As a scholar and artist, I have been asked to give multidisciplinary readings, performances, and lectures on my expertise in Black feminist thought, the history of gynecology, and representations of Black women in art and popular culture. I am now booking for Spring and Summer 2023.

Poetry Readings and Performances

Informed by my research in the fields of Black Studies, Gender Studies, and Medical Humanities, my poetry engages the impact of history and the social world in our present and intimate lives through the tenderness of human experience.

Workshops

As a creative writer and researcher, I give workshops on incorporating creativity in scholarship and research in creative writing. I have been invited to lead a number of workshops and talks on this subject at universities such as The University of South Carolina, and at writing retreats such as The Watering Hole. My specialty as a pedagogue and researcher is working on the edge of creative arts and research.
